Legal Vs. Illegal Immigration

It's funny, I've never held a firm believe about what to do with illegal immigrants coming into our country. That is, not until recently.

During the last three years I have been living in South Korea. Last year I married a Korean woman, whom I am bringing back to the United States with me. Both of us are excited about living in the states.

Why do I bring this up? It obvious isn't it. We are abiding by the laws of the country by going through the immigration process. Meanwhile, million of people come into the US every year. No, life isn't fair. I'm well aware of that. But what gives someone more of a right to walk into the country having done nothing legally, versus trying to go through a complex maze that is time consuming and expensive.

Does it make it more politically correct that someone from a poor country wants to illegally come into the US, then someone who is from a developed nation (take your pick)? I realize people who illegally enter the US are doing so to look for jobs and that employers who hire illegal immigrants certainly bear some responsibility for employing them.

It angers me that some support giving amnesty to those who broke the law. Are people that broke the law better then those who stood in line and did it the right way? Of course not! That being said, if your here illegally then you should be sent home to stand in line with the rest of us.
